Michael Berman is the Chief Executive Officer of Velocity Trading. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Real Estate), Master of Science (Real Estate) and a PhD in Economics with a focus on Behavioural Finance.

Michael has 15 years experience in the real estate and asset management industries. Whilst working as a hedge fund manager for CorpCapital Bank Limited, Michael founded and innovated the Velocity strategy in early 2002.

He was a founding director of ApexHi Properties Income Fund Limited a listed company with over a US$1 billion market capitalisation, and an executive of CorpCapital Bank Limited’s property division now listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Previous jobs were: Senior Asset Manager for Rand Merchant Bank Properties Limited, a Property Economist for Herbert Penny (Pty) Ltd and a Project Manager for Anglo American Property Services Limited, land development division.

Liam O’Brien has over 8 years’ experience in the financial services industry in roles such as proprietary trader, fund manager, equities/ derivatives dealer and electronic trading manager to institutional and retail clients. Liam previously held a senior management position at Stonebridge Group, one of Australia’s leading brokerage firms overseeing electronic risk controls, systems development and product implementation. Liam has a detailed understanding of the leading trading technologies and possesses vast multi-asset, multi-market industry experience.

Vladimir Krouglov

Vladimir Krouglov is a mathematical expert with a special interest in Geometric Topology who divides his time working for the Department of Topology, Institute of Mathematics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as well as pursuing a quantitative finance role partnering with the Investment Manager in its innovative implementation of mathematics and technology in the investment and portfolio management process.

He has been involved in the research and design of the Tactical Asset Allocation model, as well as various statistical arbitrage models.

Vladimir has a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics, M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D in Mathematics.

Eugene Olin

Eugene Olin is an Assistant Professor at the Kharkiv National University, Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics with special interests Metric & Convex Geometry. He has been responsible for the design and implementation of all Velocity Trading data processes and is an active member in the design and implementation of its different quantitative investment and research strategies.

Eugene has a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics, M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D in Mathematics.
